A SOUND,

even as a rushing of a breath / of a wind (that is) forceful / violent, and it [“the Sound” (not “the wind”)]  filled the whole house where they were sitting. 

And there was seen to them [there appeared to them]

‘being-divided’ tongues -> as-if

of-fire. 

And it-sat (each tongue that looked like it was of fire ->(from of that Sound of Heaven which sounded like a breath that is forceful)) upon each one of them. 

And they were filled, all,

with Holy Spirit.

and they began to speak with other tongues (that is, in other languages), according-as the Spirit was giving to-utter-forth to them (that is, according as the Spirit was giving to them to declare) … the great things of God!”                                                                                                                                                      Acts 2:2-4, 11b  (Lit. frm Grk text)

.   Being asked to teach at a home gathering, it had already been in my heart to teach and unveil the Name of Jesus from the revelation of the LORD’s O.T. Name, according as He spoke to Moses when He’d first introduced Himself to him at Mt. Sinai in the burning bush encounter of Exodus 3, & also frm Chptr ‘s 6, and 34.

.   Some days later, sitting in an airplace, I opened my Grk. New Testament just to read over Acts 2, the passage from out of which this home group pastor had been teaching for the previous number of meetings.

.   I had hardly finished reading verse 2 when Holy Spirit’s Presence manifested; I was not expecting this at all!

.   It was a weekday morning.  We had barely taken off.  I had shared the gospel with the precious young man beside me who had worked ten straight days for a software company for a major corporation, and he just leaned his head against the window to catch a few Zs.  And Holy Spirit is pouring out upon me, making known to me that THIS is what He wanted me to teach – this baptism in Fire.

.   It had to do with something of Jesus’s passion to get a fire HE wanted kindled in the earth, something HE had made known while heading straight for Jerusalem to be crucified; (Lk. 12:49).

“a FIRE I came to cast upon the earth …”

.   In my thinking, I was the wrong person to teach a baptism of fire, as John had declared of what Jesus was going to do; (Mat. 3:11; Lk. 3;16).  In my reasoning, there was local man of God who’d experienced this baptism in fire, literally, and had been so changed and marked for the rest of his life because of this, who could teach this better.

.    But Holy Spirit in those moments on that airplane, His Presence, His imparted instruction in it, had marked ME in that moment that THIS was His will, His desire for the Believers who were to be gathered in several weeks at this home.

.   I had a sense, in the instruction, that He wanted a foundation laid from the roots of Pentecost, from of the first ‘Shavuot’ back in Exodus and the other writings of Moses as to this.

.   There was something HE wanted revealed, unveiled, pertaining to the Sound of Heaven which had been deposited some 50 days after He’d fulfilled the prophetic mystery of Passover -› His sufferings and resurrection – on that day in Acts 2.

.    …  because Almighty God wants THIS sound echoing throughout the earth IN OUR DAYS, in authority and power, THROUGH His people present upon the earth.

.   This sound, foundationed in us, has EVERYTHING to do with fulfilling YHVH God’s Psalm 110:1 decree to His Son, our Lord, pertaining to throwing ALL His enemies under His feet.

.   The king of the kingdom of darkness knows this … WAY more than we do.

.   he has consequently made it his mission that we do not give place to Holy Spirit for Him to set this Sound into who we are as believers into Jesus, and to thus cause us to (unwittingly) mock the the work of the finished work of Jesus’s cross through our life.

.   “Christianity”, ALL OF IT, every doctrine, every day lived in it, its very life, everything believed and preached and taught, if it doesn’t have its roots, its foundation, STRONGLY laid in THIS SOUND, if it is not “life-d” from out of THIS sound, then it doesn’t carry the coals of the fire of the altar of Jesus’s cross to kindle the fire He said He wanted cast upon the earth; it is thus weak at best, and void of impact to establish and so augment God’s Kingdom, in our own region, and void of seeing manifest a transformation of society.

.   …

.  And I believe we are needing to see that this is where we have been, Beloved, at large, in general, in this nation, in this continent.

.   There is this heartbeat breath of God’s Spirit poured out from Throne, where Christ Jesus, our High Priest, sprinkled His blood (Jhn. 20:17; Heb. 9;11-12), and then forty days later sat down (Acts1:3,9; Mk.16;19; Heb. 1:3b) as King of kings and Lord of lords, to which we haven’t taken hold and let be  seared into us, at least to the degree that God the Father wants this foundationed in each of us, in the ekklesia Body of Christ.

.   While it is so that this subject – of the Sound of Heaven- has been kairos blogged several times previously, the foundation understanding of Act 2:1-2 roots will bring out the heartbeat and roots of why God gave His promised Holy Spirit the way He did after Jesus’s suffering and resurrection and ascension to sit and reign as King and Lord, because of what His cross accomplished.

.   Holy Spirit is after ruling Jesus’s Lordship, Beloved, the decree of heaven, THROUGH His people, through the ekklessia, through His people’s proclamation of the good news of Jesus Christ -> because of transformed lives  …  transformed because of THIS Sound.

.   The Fire that is God, (Deut.4:24a; Heb. 12:29), the Fire that Jesus was very passionate about kindling upon the earth, is seeded in THIS Sound.

Laying the Foundation For the Acts 2:2 Violent Sound Turned into Tongues of Fire.

Part 1 – Understanding the “50 days”

.   There are feasts set into the Hebrew timeline yearly that were based upon the literal timeline (the specific days) of Israel’s deliverance from out of Egyptian slavery.

.   Passover is celebrated on the (evening of the) 14th of the first month, (which month falls roughly from the middle of March to the middle of April), because it was on this day, in Egypt, that the Hebrews sacrificed a lamb and put its blood upon the doorframe of their houses, the night the first born of the Egyptians died, and accordingly which caused Pharoah to alas set the Hebrews completely free from slavery.  (Ex. 12:1-32).

.   Unleavened Bread is celebrated over the following 7 days, (from the night of Passover on the 14th to the 21st) because the Hebrews were basically forced out of Egypt by the Egyptians, who were burying their firstborn sons the following morning, afraid that God of the Hebrews was going to slaughter all of them next.  Accordingly, the Hebrews had no time to let their bread dough sit to leaven, but had to take their bread quickly, totally unleavened, and get out; they didn’t even have time to get their bread baked before leaving their Egyptian dwellings because of how suddenly they had to go. (Ex. 12:34, 39).

.   They left Egypt on the 15th of the month, the morning after Passover, (it was actually still dark, before the morning sunrise, that they left, [that they were compelled out of], Egypt – Deut. 16:1) and traveled the rest of that month, (15th of ‘Abib,’ [as it is first called in Exodus 13:4], to the 30th), and all the following month (the month of Ziv – 29 days), arriving in the 3rd month (Sivan) before Mount Sinai. (Ex.19:1).

.   It is the timeline of this journey, until something crucial that takes place in  just a few days, that we count the  50 days to what is known, in the Old Covenant, as ‘Shavuot’ (Feast of Weeks), and, in the New Covenant, as ‘Pentecost.’

Counting the 50 days:

The Egyptians urged the people, to send them out of the land in a hurry, for they said, “We will all be dead.”  So the people took their dough before it was leavened. … And they baked the dough which they had brought out of Egypt into cakes of unleavened bread.  For it had no yeast, since they were driven out of Egypt and could not delay,                                                                                                                        Ex.  12:33, 39a  (NASB)

“You shall keep the unleavened bread because in this day I have brought out your hosts from the land of Egypt.” … “on the fifteenth day of the … month there is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to Yahweh; for seven days …  On the first day you shall have a holy convocation; you shall not do any laborious work (this is a rest, a ‘Shabbat) .                                            Ex. 12:17 (Peshitta H.B.T)    Lev. 23:6a-7  (Legacy S.B.)

“You shall also count for yourselves from the day after the Sabbath, … seven complete Sabbaths.  You shall count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath. … You shall count seven weeks for yourself;  …   And you shall celebrate the Feast of Weeks [of Shavuot].”                                                                                                       Lev. 23:15a,16a;  Deut. 9a, 10a  (NASB)

.   Based upon this timeline from Passover, the LORD would instruct Moses to set the upcoming feast, predominantly known as ‘Shavuot’, as one of the 3, (of the 7 feasts set), as the most significant for Israel.

.   These 3 feasts thus set by the LORD will have bearing in prophetic fulfillment; because in total it unveils God’s heart, from the beginning of creation, from the fall of man in the garden, to redeem ALL of mankind.

.   The LORD, here at Sinai first, calls into being the feast of ‘Shavuot’ as a required celebration before Him; and, in decreeing the three of the seven annual feasts, He calls this particular Shavuot feast, only here, it appears, something both different AND significant, (something I rarely hear) …  the prophetic detail of the title He gives here to this one, along with the third required celebration, stand out:

“Three times you shall keep a feast to Me in the year: You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread … and the Feast of Harvest, the firstfruits of your labors which you have sown in the field; and the Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you have gathered in the fruit of your labors from the field.”                                                                                                                                                                                        Exodus 23:14-16 (NKJV)

Part 2 – The First “Shavuot / Pentecost”  …  The First “Sound”

.   Back at Sinai, Exodus 19 -20, there is about to occur a Sound which will have a profound effect upon the people, as would the Sound of Heaven on the day this is fulfilled in the New Covenant centuries later.

.   Up until this point in time the people have only known the LORD’s voice through Moses.  They have never heard from Him themselves.

.   This is about to change.

“And the LORD said to Moses, “Behold,  I come to you in the thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you” … Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow, … And let them be ready for the third day.  For on the third day the LORD  will come down upon Mount Sinai  

…  And it came to be on the third day, it being the morning,  there came to be SOUNDS, and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mountain, and a sound of a shophar – mighty exceedingly, (extremely loud), and they shuddered-with-terror / they trembled, the people who were in camp.

And Moses brought out the people to encounter God from the camp; and they stood at the foot of the mountain.  And the mountain of Sinai was entirely smoking because the LORD descended upon it in fire …

And the sound of the trumpet was going on and had grown very strong, …

.   You have to picture this intentionally, Beloved.  You are laying down the night before, with a knowing that the LORD is somehow, in a thick cloud, going to make Himself known to you and to everyone around you in the morning.  …

.   You’d seen His great power in Egypt, and how that last night there, with the sacrifice you made of a lamb you had kept in your house for the previous 4 days, its blood outside on the doorframe of your house … how after midnight that night, in the distance, you heard the cries of your Egyptian slave lords weeping hard at finding out their oldest child had just died, and their dogs barking like crazy, yet your dogs are silent and no one has died …. then suddenly being driven out of Egypt by those tear stained slavemasters while it is still dark.

.   You’d seen the power of God, by a wind, open up so supernaturally the Red Sea, giving y’all a clear, dry path through to the other side …

.   … and then, as you are finishing exiting that Red Sea path, those same Egyptian slave lords, with an entire army, are suddenly chasing towards you to take you back into slavery, yet the Red sea, by Moses’s stretching our his hand over the sea, closes over those slave lords and drowns them, …

.   and it suddenly hits you then the power of the LORD, the true God of Power, has definitively cut off Egypt’s power from ever holding you and your family and your people in slavery ever again … because of this Awesome God’s power …. You recall the AWE that had captured your heart and that of everyone around you  …  (Ex. 14:31-15:21).

.   And it is THIS God that is about to make Himself known to you.

.   …

.   And now, this morning, some 50 days after having been delivered from out of Egyptian slavery, you wake up to sounds, LOUD sounds, and to lightnings, and on top of this, to a distinct sound like of a shophar …  which is increasing in intensity and loudness  …

.   You get up out of your tent to see this spectacle, only to realize shockingly how great is the thick dark cloud, smoking because of Fire  …  from of  …   Elohiym!

.   Yes, this would put you in a tremble … especially then as Moses begins to call everyone to come and approach the dark cloud covered, smoking Mountain with all of its SOUNDS

…

.    And then comes the blast of HIS words … from out of all these combined Sounds and the thick darkness from of the smoking of the Fire of God’s Presence.

“And God spoke all these words, saying:

“I am YHVH, YOUR GOD, WHO BROUGHT YOU OUT OF THE LAND OF EGYPT, OUT OF THE HOUSE OF BONDAGE.

.   Moses goes up to the top of Mt. Sinai, and there YHVH begins detailing to him the pattern of the tabernacle to be made and assembled by the people.

.   The very first piece described to him is the Ark of the Covenant, with its Mercy seat on top (Ex.  25:10-22).

.   The final instruction YHVH speaks to Moses concerning this primary piece of the tabernacle, (the full essence of what He says to Moses), is in the last statement:

“And you shall put the Mercy Seat upon the ark  …                     and I will be met (by appointment) with you there,                  and I will (intentionally) speak with you from above the Mercy Seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark   …”                                                                                                                                                                     Exodus 25:21a, 22

.   While it is so that YHVH did exactly this with Moses (Num. 7:89), this was not so under the Mosaic Law for anyone after him, not for ANYBODY,  … EVER!  (Don’t let go of what the LORD said and did to and for Moses through the Ex.  25:22 & Num. 7:89 references given.  There is crazy awesome New Covenant fulfillment that would take place through Jesus. …   This has EVERYTHING to do with the Sound of Heaven).

.   The LORD, in Leviticus 16, lays out very strict regulations concerning access to His Presence in the Holy of Holies part of the tabernacle where was placed the Ark of the Covenant.

 “And the LORD said to Moses, “Tell your brother Aaron that he shall NOT enter at any time into the holy place inside the veil, before the mercy seat which is on the ark, lest he die; for I will appear in the cloud over the mercy seat.

Aaron shall enter the Holy place with this: with a bull for a sin offering …  which is for himself, … and for his houselhold … And he shall take from the congregation of the sons of Israel two male goats for a sin offering …

He shall … make atonement for the  priests and for the sons of Israel for all their sins ONCE EVERY YEAR.”                                                                               excrpt frm.  Leviticus 16 (NASB)

.   The day of atonement, (Yom Kippur), on the 10th day of the 7th month (about our September), was the ONLY day that only ONE man had access the MercySeat Presence of the LORD, God  (Heb. 9:7).

.   If you read through Leviticus 16, you will find that the High Priest entered, (by my counting), three times that day;

1st entrance – v12-13 – The priest takes coals from the sin offering, from out upon the altar, and puts them in a censor, and brings it inside the veil, with two handfuls of incense, which he then puts onto the burning coals inside the veil, in order for the smoke cloud of the incense to cover the mercy seat before he sprinkles blood for sin.

2nd entrance – v14 – he brings in blood from the bull of the sin offering, which was offered for the sins of the priesthood, and he brings that inside the veil and sprinkles the blood, one time upon the front of the Mercy Seat and then seven times in front of the Mercy Seat on the ground. (This is significant, Beloved, the seven in front of the Mercy Seat.  Remember, ALL of this is a pattern of the real.  This will be unveiled below. )

3rd entrance – v15 – He brings in the blood of the goat that was offered for the sins of the people and does the same thing upon and in front of the Mercy Seat / Ark of the Covenant as he did when he’d offered the blood of the bull.

.   So we see that the high priest entered three times on the day of atonement, yet he only got to enter into the Holy of Holies that one day out of the whole year (ref. Heb. 9:7).  NO ONE ELSE ever got to enter that close to where YHVH had told Moses that He would speak from above the Mercy Seat. 

.   Sill, the LORD did NOT make this statement for Moses alone, Beloved, nor was it a hopeless promise.  This was ALL looking forward to  ->  …

.   The entire Old Covenant tabernacle system under the Law, as you read through Leviticus, was a non-stop sin offering life, because every time you blew it, every time you messed up, and a number of other issues over which it seemed you couldn’t help, you had to go offer a sacrifice for your sin.  (Heb. 7:19a, 27a).

.   The Old Covenant kept sin consciousness very much alive  …  Because the ‘Law’ NEVER changed the heart, never had the power or grace to wrought in man transformation.  You were more aware of your sin, of never being able to live up to the standard of YHVH God’s character (Heb. 10:1-3, 11).

” but in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins year by year.  For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and of goats to take away sins.”                                                                                                 Hebrews 10:2-3  (NASB)

.   “Forgiveness” throughout all of the Old Covenant blood sacrifices were merely temporal sacrifices to appease, or propitiate, for sin, yet never a force of Grace for a cleansing removal of sin itself.

.   What is being brought out in this is that every time the LORD was approached, at the closest place where was His Holiest Presence, was only for the issue of offering sacrifice for sin, was ALWAYS a fearful place, where”SIN” consciousness, because of sin, because  of the Adamic nature, was the never-ending reality before Him.

.   You ALWAYS needed a “Draw Near” offering in order to draw near to this Awesome God Who had delivered you from out of perpetual slavery .  Yet you yourself could never get close enough  …  because  that “privilege” was for one man alone.

.   God’s heart was ALWAYS to dwell among mankind.  But the purity and the intensity of the Light of Who He is, Who He has always been, would cause the death of everyone who tried to approach, to draw near, apart from a sacrifice of blood to appease sin, let alone deal with guilt and shame in His Presence.  (Light ALWAYS reveals, even minutely, the dirt, where you thought what was clean WAS clean … but isn’t.)

“For ALL sinned and are come short of the Glory of God.”                                                                                             Roman’s 3:23

“and according to the Law … apart from shedding of blood there is NO forgiveness!”                                                                                          Hebrews 9:22

.   The reason for the phrase, ‘Draw Near Offering’, stems from both a verb and a noun in Hebrew, in Leviticus 1 , used by the LORD to Moses in His opening words.

.   The noun is derived from the verb, and carries the nugget we don’t see in English.  They unveil what has been taught above, yet point so directly to what Jesus, the Lamb of God, would come to be for us.  They reverberate with the Sound that came as Mighty rushing wind on Shavuot’s Pentecost fulfillment.

.   (If we knew how intense this is in God the Father through His Son for the earth, from His Throne where is forever Jesus’s speaking blood, for the nations of the earth, for the multitudes of individuals of every tongue and tribe and people and nation, to be an on-going/non-stop revelation of the immensity of His love poured out in us, and thus as an equalled non-stop fountain of life out of us, we would go after God’s Holy Spirit to make this Sound the sound of our lungs in the life that we live on earth).

.   …    Selah!    …

.                   (The ‘Draw Near’ Offering)

.   With the tabernacle finally having being made, assembled, and set up at the end of the book of Exodus, YHVH God’s glory filling this “tent of Meeting”, (Ex.  40:34), He opens up, in the next chapter (Lev. 1:2) with these words:

‘Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘When any man of you brings an offering to the LORD, you shall bring your offering of animals from the herd or the flock.’ “

.   Now lets look at this verse more closely, with the denotation that the Hebrew verb and noun carry.

“Speak to the sons of Israel and says to them, ‘a man, when he draws near, from y’all, with a draw-near-offering to YHVH, from -out-of the livestock – from the cattle and from the flock – you shall draw-near with your draw-near-offering.’ “

.   One of the seeds of the mystery of the gospel (Rom. 16:25b; Col. 1:26; Lk. 24:27), of the GOOD News of God – from of the Sound of Heaven – was being planted by Him right here, at the outset of this just assembled tabernacle and the cornerstone for the instructions of this third book of Moses.

.  The entire book of Leviticus, with all of the seeming unendless, meticulous sacrifice offering requirements, reveal, with these opening introductory words, YHVH God’s heartbeat desire to dwell among them, to have a people thus willing to draw near to Him, in response to all that has been and continues to be His pursuit of them, so as to be clean before Him, so as to have a people set apart in the earth …

.    -> towards making the nations both jealous and thus desirous to have what they have.  (Gen. 3:12b, 18:18-19; 22:18).  If you do not see and carry this as you read through Leviticus and the rest of the Law, you will miss the essence of God’s heart, as well as the gospel’s mystery from which Jesus unveiled Himself to the two on the road to Emmaus just hours after He was raised from the dead.

.   God’s intentional pursuit, Beloved, His awesome deliverance of His people, His passionate desire to Grace-gift promised inheritance to them, was all seeding into the earth His ‘from eternity’ purposed will and destiny for mankind, with prophetic mystery towards the plan of redemption He had decreed back in the Garden (Gen. 3:14-15) … which all carries a Sound … of freedom … literally …  from Heaven’s blood splattered, authoritative Throne, because of ALL that Holy God’s “forgiveness” means for every single individual on earth.

.    So then, you recall that the LORD had told Moses the tabernacle was according “to the plan” …  of the real.  Let’s unveil the real.  This will lead us into uncovering something SO huge, towards beginning to comprehend the magnitude behind the force of the Sound of Heaven, as it came in Acts 2:2.

” …we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.   …  For by one offering He has perfected for all time the ones being sanctified. 

And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us… ‘and of the sins of them and of the lawlessnesses of them, in NO WAY will I [let Myself,  give Myself, make Myself to] remember still.’

Where, then, there is forgiveness of these things, there is no longer an offering concerning sin.

Since therefore, brethren, we have confidence for entrance into the Holies (the Holy of Holies) by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way, which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh, and since we have a great prest over the house of God, LET US DRAW NEAR with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our heart sprinkled clean from an evil conscience …                                                                                     excrpt frm. .    (Read Jeremiah 31:34 in Young’s Literal Translation; let the impact of Holy Spirit’s words through Jeremiah sink into your ears, as you see the the denotation Young’s brings out from the Hebrew text, clarifying the writer of Hebrews’ 8:12 & 10:17’s references to Jeremiah’s prophetic word.)

.   Jesus is our “Draw Near offering”, Beloved, … with no more, and no added, consciousness of sin, nor guilt nor shame  …  nor recollection of your sin by Him … because there is no more evidence  and accordingly no more remembrance of what Jesus’s blood forever washed and cleansed and removed.

“Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the Throne of Grace, that we may receive … ”                                                                                                                                        Hebrews 4:16a. (NASB)

.    We can see now through New Covenant eyes the words of YHVH, our Awesome God and Father, what He spoke to Moses up on Mt Sinai concerning the Ark of the Covenant.

and I will be met (by appointment) with you there,                  and I will (intentionally) speak with you from above the Mercy Seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark   …”                                                                                                                                                                                                    Exodus 25:22

– part B – The Nugget from Yom Kippur’s Sprinkling of Blood  –                                                   Unveiling the Reason for the Sound of Heaven

“And straightening up, Jesus said to her,                                                “Woman, where are they?  Did no one condemn you?”

And she said,  “No one, Lord.”

And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you;                                                                                      go your way and sin no more.”                                                                             John 8:10-11  (NASB)

    “but there is forgiveness with You                                                                                                  that You may be feared.”                                                                                                                               Psalms 130:4

“… having forgiven you ALL trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us.  And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.  Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.”                                                                                                                       Colossians 2:13b-15  (NKJV)

.   What is being shared here, I first heard some years ago from Pastor Joseph Prince.  I’d never heard this taught before, yet it answers something staring at us in Hebrews 9, which hardly anyone realizes is there.

.   This is going to set new understanding and seal something in your heart and mind as to your right to your right standing of ‘wholly righteous’ before God.  It makes ‘the Sound of Heaven’ in you that much more bold!  This will set such rejoicing and praise to Christ Jesus for what the sufferings of His Cross accomplished … for YOU!

.   From Hebrews 9:7-26, the writer is contrasting the perpetual sacrifices of animals under the Old Covenant to the one time sacrifice of Jesus through His blood, and says something which almost sounds unbelievable.

“Moses … sprinkled both the tabernacle and the vessels of the ministry with the blood.   And according to the Law, almost all things are cleansed with blood, and apart from shedding of blood there is no forgiveness  .

Therefore it was necessary for the copies of the things  in the heavens to be cleansed with these, BUT THE HEAVENLY THINGS THEMSELVES (TO BE CLEANSED) with better sacrifices than these.”                                                                                                                                                                        Hebrews 9:21-24

.   Why did anything in Heaven, where is Holy God, where is His Throne, where the angels forever cry, “Holy”, need to be cleansed?

.   Remember, the LORD had told Moses, up on Mt. Sinai when He was giving to him the plans of the tabernacle, making it clear to him that all of this was indeed a pattern, a copy, of the real.

.   Hence, in reading the requirements of Leviticus 16, for how to do the sin offerings on Yom Kippur / Day of Atonement, and seeing that the High Priest had to bring, into the Holy of Holies, blood to be sprinkled both upon the Mercy Seat AND on the ground in front of the Mercy Seat, and seeing now this verse in Hebrews 9:24 concerning Heavenly things needing to be cleansed , we have to find out why the Heavenly things needed to be cleansed.

.   Keep in mind that all of this has to do with OUR need to be clean before God, with the fact that sacrifice, in cleansing us through sacrificed blood, is rooted in what is  and what means ‘Forgiveness‘, in giving to us a place of standing before God apart from the blemish of sin.

“Again there was day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and satan also came along them to present himself before the LORD.”                                                                                                          Job 2:1 (see also 1:6)

.   satan’s name is derived from a verb meaning, “to attack, to act as adversary,” figuratively implying, “to accuse”.   We see this so clearly in Zechariah 3:1.

“And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of YHWH, and satan was standing at his right hand to oppose [to accuse] him. … And Joshua was there, dressed in filthy garments, ”

.   Let’s look at the emboldened, underlined portion to see the image of what is taking place here:

“satan standing at his right to oppose [to accuse] him, and Joshua was dressed in filthy garments”

.   satan had access to YHVH God’s Throneroom,  because his accusations against us were, as a fact, correct.

.   We were guilty of sin, dressed, as it were, in the filthy garments of who we were in our sin nature.  “Sinning” was a natural by-product – fruit – of having been born in Adam, that is, in sin  (Rom.  5;12).

.    Accusation because of guilt consequently gave satan right of access before YHVH God; because, prior to what took place upon Golgatha and then three days later, when Jesus, our Great High Priest, took His blood, not to the copy, but to the true Mercy Seat, there had been something missing, something that only the copy on earth had, but the Heavenly DIDN’T,  …

.   … something to which the mere, handmade copies of the Cherubim on the Ark of the covenant in a handmade tabernacle were made to look, but the actual Cherubim standing on each side of the Judgment Seat Throne in Heaven had NEVER seen.

.   …  BLOOD!

“and according to the Law … apart from shedding of blood there is NO forgiveness!”                                                                                                                                                                       Hebrews 9:22

.   satan is the ultimate unclean spirit.  It was this unclean spirit, the lord of ALL unclean spirits, the accuser opponent, who had had access in Heaven to do what his name connotes, because there had never been blood, nor the voice of the Blood, set there to atone and accordingly counter his accusations of guilt.

.   Beloved, Jesus had stripped the authority AND power -› of satan,  the kingdom of darkness, of the work of sin in the flesh – while nailed upon the cross, having gained the victory for us with that yell, “TETELSTAI!! ” –  “FINISHED!” & then having bowed His head and yielding His Spirit to His Father, breathing His last breath.   This was the FIRST man, since the creation of Man, who never ONCE succumbed to sin.  And God PROUDLY sacrificed Him, knowing THIS Man would strip that king of darkness. (Col.  2:15).

And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.  Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.”                                                                                                                          Colossians 2:13-15  (NKJV)

.   But YHVH God, a millennium and a half earlier, back in Moses’s day, had set a decreed requirement into the patterned tabernacle, though NO ONE, not the Hebrews, nor angels, nor demons, even took note, because they never saw or understood the action of the high priest that one day a year on Yom Kippur every single year, until the destruction of the temple by the Babylonians,

.  The Day of Atonement’s Holy of Holies’ blood sprinkling was something which was ACTUALLY going to be done by a Physical Man in the real Holy  of Holies not made with hands, to sprinkle HIS  BLOOD

.   …  because He HAD TO cleanse a spot SEVEN times, with His own blood in front of the Throne, a Judgement Seat become for mankind alas a Mercy Seat, where the opponent and accuser of mankind had had legal right to accuse …

.   Why?   …

.   In order to cut off that access FOREVER, Grace-gifting us an unprecedented, beyond what we have barely let sink into us, FORGIVENESS   ..

.   AND an eternal, guiltless,  unashamed access and standing place in YHVH God’s Presence, right before His face, His eyes, with not even a blot or scar or smell of sin!!!!

But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation; and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place (the Holy of Holies) once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.”                                                                                                                                                                      Hebrews 9:11-12 (NASB)

“Since therefore, brethren, we have confidence to enter the Holy place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and  living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh, … let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith,  having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience  …’                                                                                                                                                          Hebrews 1:19-20, 22a  (NASB)

     How will they know You?

 

“BECAUSE MERCIFUL WILL BE TO THE                                                  UNRIGHTEOUSNESSES OF THEM,

.   If we understood the force and impact of THIS sound, of what YHVH Almighty Holy God is saying in these above words, we would give ourselves to Holy Spirit transformation wholly and utterly surreneded,  knowing what this would do to society at large,  what it would do to wreak havoc in completely collapsing the stronghold that the prince of the authority of the air has skillfully, deceitfully held fast to over minds and over regions and over nations.

One Final Word

But you have come  …  to Jesus, the Mediator of a New Covenant, AND TO THE SPRINKLED BLOOD WHICH SPEAKS  … SEE TO IT THAT YOU DO NOT REFUSE THE ONE SPEAKING! ”                                                                                                     Hebrews 12:22a, 24 – 25a

.   The Sound of Heaven carries the weightiness of Jesus’s words from the cross (Lk. 23;34) AND from the voice of His blood from the Highest throne in existence; Holy Spirit was  poured out from THIS truth, FROM THIS FOUNDATION AND HEARTBEAT OF THE GOD OF THE UNIVERSE WHO CREATED US TO BE IN, AND SO CARRY, HIS IMAGE, through THIS revelation …

.   That Acts 2:2 Sound like a VIOLENT RUSHING WIND,  is supposed to carry the force of God’s intention revealed THROUGH the force of the Sound by which He sent,  through Jesus,  through his shed,  sprinkled,  speaking blood, the Holy Spirit to the earth INTO HIS people.

.   The fire that Jesus came to cast upon the earth is in THIS Sound,  Beloved …  revealed in Jesus’s first Resurrection appearance to those whom He’d first commissioned / apostled (back in Mark 3;14) to take this GOOD News to the nations of the earth – (John 20:19-23; Luke 24:44-49; Acts 1:8)

.   The non-waning weightiness of Holy Spirit’s words through the writer of Psalms 130:4 will be the voice of Truth in and through JESUS – His BODY on the earth – reverberating and shaking whole regions, some down to the core, literally dismantling kingdom of darkness strongholds through the force of “you are forgiven!” – with ALL that this denotes, connotes, means, carries, etc., and to EVERY tribe and people and nation, in every tongue on this earth. (Rev. 5:9-10; 7:9-10).

.    The one having ears to hear, let him hear.

–   For those of you who have believed into Jesus; take communion often (I Cor. 11:23-26; Lk. 24:30-31a).  Let communion be a refreshing of the Blood and the Spirit (Heb. 9:14) to cleanse your conscious from sin consciousness to righteousness consciousness, that you are indeed clean, as a gift of His grace.  You are no more, Dearly Beloved, under condemnation; rather, you are under justification – eternally! (Rom. 4:25b, 5:21;b; Heb. 9:11-12).  You will find the Holy Spirit of Jesus unveiling Jesus to you from the scriptures like you’ve never seen Him before.

kairos – (Kahee-ros’) – Strong’s concordance defines this word: “an occasion, I.e. set or proper  time.”  The Hebrew-Greek Key Study Bible (NASB) defines this word; “season, time, but not merely as a succession of moments, which is chronos,” [from which we derive the English word ‘chronology’].  “Kairos, however, implies not the convenience of the season, but the necessity of the task at hand, whether the time provides a good, convenient opportunity or not.”  This must be understood.  Strategic times of the Lord do not necessarily imply good or convenient times.  We are in Kairos times.  Maybe not good or convenient times, but definitely strategic, opportune times because of the season we are in.  We must have “ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches,” (Rev. 2:29), so as to respond correctly to the Kairos time.
