The Power of His Hand Is In The Sacrifice of The Lamb The Zakar Scar
Part 2
“Your Lamb shall be without blemish … the fourteenth day of the same month the whole assembly of the congregation (carries the weight of “witnessess”) of Israel shall kill it … And they shall take of the blood, and strike [it] on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it. and they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast{ed} with fire, And THIS DAY SHALL BE UNTO YOU FOR A MEMORIAL; (Literally carries the weight of “A MARKED REMEMBRANCE“) from Exodus 12:5-8, 14a (KJV)
“Moses said to the people, “Remember this day in which you went from Egypt (Mitzraim), out of the house of slavery; for by a powerful hand the LORD brought you out from this place … This day you are coming out in the month Abib Exodus 13:3, 4a (v3-KJV/v4-Lit. Mass. txt)
_______________________________–————–
“Our fathers, in Mitzraim, … did not REMEMBER the abundant lovingkindnesses of-You … ” They REMEMBERED NOT His Hand, [nor] THE DAY when HE DELIVERED them from the enemy.” Ps. 106:7a (lit. frm Mssrtc Heb. txt) Ps. 78:42 (KJV)
In the August of 2016 Kairos it was written that there is coming a new revelation of “God” in truth, a perception correction to unveil Who He really is. Jesus, as a Man here on earth, in the days of His earthly service – in all the miracles, in all the people whom He’d set free/delivered from evil spirits, all the healings, all the spending countless hours with sinners, with common folk – in this earthly service of Jesus He was unveiling to the Jewish people, the seed of Abraham, and even to several non Jewish Romans, the EXACT image of His Father, that is, of “God“ –(Is. 9:6; John. 14:7, 9b-11; Heb. 1:3), that He – “God” – was and is ALWAYS only Good! … Really, REALLY Good! (Acts10:38). It had been prophesied by Isaiah that Jesus would be called, “Emmanuel” – Imannu – With us / El–God! (Is. 7:14; Mat. 1:22-23). Jesus was literally being “GOD with-us” to the people, showing and teaching the immense, abundant lovingkindnesses of God in all the hands on (supernatural) interaction with the common folk.
The true revelation of the very heart of Almighty God unveils the totality of His eternal affection for His Son – AND THUS FOR US – most especially in Jesus’s willing sacrifice unto the death of a cross, in order to redeem fallen mankind back to His glory image, to the resurrection glory of His Son, the Man Christ Jesus (Rom. 5:1-2; 8:29-30; Col. 1:27). The entire Old Covenant – the Jewish Tanakh, what we refer to as “the Old Testament” – is jammed with the mystery of this revelation, of God’s heart for His Son, for the sacrifice His Son would willingly carry out for love of His Father, to redeem each one of us. He intentionally set this, yes, as a mystery, into His people, the Hebrews, the seed of Abraham, all the way back to Abraham himself (Gal. 3:8). Jesus had declared this truth of His Father, of Who “God” really is, through Who He was/is (“Before Abraham was, I am” -Jhn 8:58) to the Jewish religious leaders who knew the scriptures yet still never had revelation of this mystery, (Jhn. 5:29). Jesus would then later even detail this mystery in probably one of the most awesome, (private), lengthy, heart-being-set-ablaze explanation unveilings of the Tanakh ever, with just two, on the day of His resurrection (Lk. 24:13-32; 44-45).
But He waited till the greatest persecutor of the church, Saul of Tausus, experienced the full measure of the mystery of His heart, of what always was His eternal purpose – the exceeding wealth of His Awesome Goodness, the immense intensity of His Grace towards the sons of Adam … to first, yes, the seed of Abraham – to redeem by the sacrifice OF HIS SON unto His Own judgment, our deserved Divine wrath, so as to unveil the mystery which had been hidden in the past ages in Saul’s/Paul’s own forefathers from Paul’s own forefathers; (Acts 9:1ff; Gal. 1:15-17; 1 Cor. 14:2; Eph. 3:1-5; Col. 2:1-3). What God had set into Paul’s very first forefather, Abraham, in Genesis 17, and then in esp. ch. 22, was a heart scar, though rejected by his seed in the night they themselves killed and ate the Passover Lamb in Egypt/ Mitzraim, a lamb of which they had taken care inside their homes for four days prior to their sacrificing it. I believe Abraham saw something, in the ram that God had provided, had substituted, for the son he was about to offer in sacrifice up on Mt. Moriah, which substitution Abraham thus sacrificed in place of Isaac; and seeing this Divinely substituted offering scarred his heart forever (Jhn. 8:56). It put into this man a Remembrance that he would never forget … and that would also cause him to forever quit offering “lesser” sacrifices than the one provided him by his ever real “God”; (he that has an ear to hear, let him hear – ref. Heb. 10:10,14, 18 et al). (There is never an account, after Mt. Moriah, of Abraham ever again offering a sacrifice to God, as he had often done prior to Mt. Moriah). However, Abraham’s future seed, the very generation that God had told Abraham himself would come out – wealthy – from of the foreign land to which they were to be enslaved, so as to inherit the very soil He was swearing to him to give to them, (Gen. 15:12-16a), that seed of this forefather would reject the same revelation, the same “heart scar”, as it were, … … and thus the mystery, the veiled-from-their-heart heart of God, their Deliverer God, the plan of His Son to be the Lamb of sacrifice in their stead.
It was written in several Kairos newsletters, under the title, “Pursuing His Voice at the Place of Sacrifice”, what means for us the unfolding of the LORD’s voice through sacrifice, as seen in Abraham’s pursuit of God’s heart, how it was that our forefather of faith touched God’s heart with this pursuit, and how the LORD always answered him with increasing, augmenting revelation of destiny, of inheritance, which would ultimately set the mystery of God’s own Son and the cross to come. Abraham, through this pursuit of His voice by sacrifice, gained a hearing heart, and would come to a place of honored authority by the nations around him. The “foolishness” of the simplicity of sacrifice in pursuit of God’s voice, of His very heart (the foolishness of the cross) literally brought about an authority of the very Throne of God upon and over him, in both victory and in fear of him by other kings. (Ps. 105:8-15; Gen. 14, 21:22-34; 23:6a). Yet, because the seed of this man in Egypt did not gain understanding, did not learn wisdom, did not believe in the goodness of God Who was mightily delivering them and putting the fear of Him as their mighty God within the hearts of both the Egyptians (Ex. 10:7; 12:33 et al) AND the Canaanites (Josh. 2:9-10a), by the very judgments that were on their behalf to break the siege bondage of slavery on all sides, (an overt bold showing of His Chesed-Lovingkindness), they were, in truth, rejecting the very “heart scar-ing” circumcision, the very gracing by God to “remember” His abundant lovingkindnesses” ; they, henceforth, never gained a hearing heart to be able to obediently move successfully forward towards possessing promised possession, Divinely promised inheritance.
asdf Here, then, is the unfolding, from the Hebrew, of this mystery, the “scar”ing of the heart. Please pay attention, Beloved. If you will let the greatness of our Greater Passover, “scar” your heart, it will Grace you to drive away from your lips every complaining, every single word (from out of your mouth … or from your fingers on social media) that literally stops your forward progress of faith – of growing and augmenting in hearing HIM – those words that keeps you, as that delivered from Mitzraim generation(ref. Num. 14:1-4, 20-24), in a forever “desert”, words that slam shut the supernatural that allows you to alas cross the Jordan, preventing you from entering into an inheritance for this life Promised by Abba Father God through the finished work of His Son’s cross, of the sacrifice of Jesus our Savior.
ad There appear to be 3 separate issues to note, from Exodus 12, from the LORD, pertaining to this judgment called “Passover”, as to requirements to keeping this as a feast (literally, a celebration) in the years and generations to come. All three are intricately linked, a single chord of three that just cannot be broken: (1) – The word “remember”. (2) – the actual slaughter of the Lamb. (3) – Circumcision. They are linked in Passover, in Divine deliverance from the authority of Mitzraim, AND unto/into His inheritance. Again, as written in the previous Kairos, all are linked by Covenant back to Abraham. There is, also, a fourth element that needs its own blog posting – “Unleavened Bread – it’s not what you think – the radical revelation unveiling from Jesus.”
asdf The LORD tells the sons of Israel, through Moses, that they are to kill the Lamb on the fourteenth day of this month marked by Him as the first of their months for the year. He told them that this day, the day the Lamb was slaughtered for a protection by its blood, and of which lamb the people were to eat (which would Grace them, unwittingly, to healing -Ps. 105:37), that this day was to be a Memorial , a marked-remembrance –throughout their generations. He also tells them that any foreigner who wishes to partake, with His people, of Passover, they are to be likened to the native Hebrew, the seed of Abraham, in one particular way – the males are to be circumcised (Ex. 12:43-48).
asdf The Hebrew word, “Memorial”, (“Marked Remembrance”), is “zikkrown”, rooted in the word, “zakar” (za-kawr), which means, in its root, “to mark” (so as to be recognized), that is “to remember”. The word for “male” is … “zakar” (zaw-kawr). Circumcision is the “mark” that brought about the remembrance … the “marked remembrance” … of Covenant. You will have to read the August of 2016 Kairos to fully understand this following part. When the LORD, YHVH, reveals Himself to Abram for the first time as “God”, (Elohiym), He likewise sets covenant with him, and changes his name to Abraham…
“And I will establish my covenant between Me and you and your seed after you in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God to you, and to your seed after you. And I will give to you, and to your seed after you, the land wherein you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.” And God said to Abraham, “You shall keep my covenant therefore, you, and your seed after you in their generations. This is My covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your seed after you; Every male child among you shall be circumcised.” Gen. 17:7-10 (AKJV/KJV)
The word “male” is “zakar”. God is requiring Abraham to set a mark of remembrance into his flesh so as to remember the Covenant God is establishing with him, to give to him and to his seed … inheritance, a Divine promise of inheritance. Read the intensity of God’s swearing to Abraham, in Gen. 22:16-18, to keep His covenant to give to his seed His promise.
Now look at Exodus 2:23b-24a, the seed of Abraham in the midst of Egypt, of Mitzraim – a rock and hard place of severe, oppressive, hostile slavery.
“And the sons of Israel sighed because of the bondage, and they cried out, and their cry for help because of their bondage rose up to God. So God heard their groaning; and God REMEMBERED – ZAKAR– HIS COVENANT with Abraham… ”
What was God remembering, Beloved? … What was the covenant God was remembering? … Look back at the accounting of Genesis 15, the sacrifice and covenant God began to cut. Then, in recalling what Abraham had done into his own flesh, as well as into all the males of his household in Genesis 17, look again at Genesis 22.
What was the Covenant with Abraham God was remembering? …
God was remembering – zakar – in Abraham, a male – zakar – the sacrifice HE HIMSELF SAW (MORIAH – mor-Yah – Yah Sees {that it has been provided] – see Gen. 22:2 & your Bible’s side notes for Gen. 22:14; ). God was not just providing a ram for Abraham, Beloved. “God” was SEEING for Himself the Lamb that He would provide for sacrifice some 1500 years later. … and sacrifice that, through Paul, He would call … a circumcision, a forever fleshly marked remembrance of Covenant.
“and in Him (Christ) you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ. When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him.” Colossians 2:11, 15 (NASB)
Do you see it, Beloved? Are you listening? Can you see the mystery from Exodus, that their deliverance from Mitzraim, from double-sided slavery, from the authorities of the powers of the Egyptian gods, the demolishing of the siege strengths of the taskmasters in holding the seed of Abraham captive is linked to the sacrifice that is in the Abrahamic covenant of circumcision, that it is prophetically linked, intentionally by God’s doing, to a sacrifice that would forever hold the scar of the covenant in the Lamb to be provided for freeing the whole World from sin and setting them into an eternal inheritance that begins NOW, the moment you believe(d)? (Ref. Jhn. 20:26-27; Rev. 5:6).
This is why it is imperative for Pastors/Teachers to do exactly as Jesus did on the day He rose from the dead, in unveiling this mystery continually – from Moses, from the Psalms, from the Prophets – to set hearts ablaze with Awe in the revelation of Jesus, of the scars He STILL wears in His hands, feet, and His side (which spear reached all the way to His heart). (Luke 24:25-49)
—–One more item. Look back at the 2nd opening scripture text, from Ex. 13, and note the last emboldened word.
“Moses said to the people, “Remember this day in which you went from Egypt (Mitzraim), out of the house of slavery; for by a powerful hand the LORD brought you out from this place … This day you are coming out in the month ABIB “” Exodus 13:3, 4a (v3-KJV/v4-Lit. Mass. txt)
Since last November’s posting of Kairos there has been this word in my heart from the LORD concerning His heart to see our hearing Him increase, in both getting our hearing in tune with Him and then augmenting hearing and in accuracy of hearing. Jesus would say a number of times in the gospels, and then again to the churches in Revelation 2 & 3, “He that has ears to hear, let him hear”. I believe He has intentionally been having these Kairos blogs address this in succession, actually going back to when I started writing, but most especially since last fall. I found an irony, that probably only works in English, having to do with the Name of the Month that God gave through Moses in having this month of Passover be marked as the first month and the marked month to set remembrance of what He has done for us through the Lamb that was slain.
From qbible’s website in defining the Hebrew word “Abib“, here is what they say, “month of ear-forming”. It technically has to do with the year’s first evidence of spring having to do with green, tender buds showing up. The very first time this word, “Abib“, is used in scripture is in Exodus 9:31. ” … for the barley was IN THE EAR…” It would be easy to take off from here to teach again; but here is the nugget. Barley was the grain for the bread of the poor in Israel in Jesus’s day (See Is. 61:1 & Lk. 4:18a). In the New Testament it is used only twice … in John 6, with the five Barley loaves that fed 5,000. That same chapter, in the second half, Jesus speaks of Himself as being the bread of heaven, and actually alludes to the sacrifice He will make with His own flesh and blood – Communion, the LORD’s table. What is God pursuing with you, Beloved, in this hour, in His heart’s adamance, if you will, to have private time with each of you every day, just because He’s after relationship, after imparting so much more of the Life of Jesus into you, into your every day life in this world?
He is after getting the Barley into your ear …
Abib has, in its Hebrew root, the definition, “to be tender”, hence, green, that is, a young ear of grain. Beloved, when you are “tender” in your ear, in your hearing, you are of childlike faith. This is where longing to hear new things from God, about unveiling Jesus, is fresh to you. When you are tender in greenness, Biblically, you are living in the anointing, you are alive in … Christ, the Anointed One inside of you. Are you listening? (Ref. Ps. 92:14 & 23:5 frm Hebrew)
Let be Marked into your remembrance, Beloved, the sacrifice of the Lamb of God, where the ears and the eyes of your heart keep beholding, ongoingly, increasingly, Jesus, God’s Love of you, for you, to you, in you, where you can’t stop pursuing Him as He keeps showing you all year long why Jesus won’t give up the scars in His hands and feet and side. As so often inscribed in these Kairos newsletters in the last several years, take communion often (I Cor. 11:26). This is where you remember, with a grateful heart, the circumcision of your own heart in the circumcision of Christ, your Amazing Savior!
You are Greatly, Greatly loved, Beloved. Mark D.

** – Beloved, take the time to go through these scriptures, and let the Holy Spirit write them and bear witness to them in your hearts and minds. Let the Word of God and the Blood of Jesus and the witness of the Holy Spirit who lives inside of you wash through you and renew your mind. These blogs are meant to be Bible studies, so you are free to print up any newsletter of this blog site for your own study. Feel free to copy and reset these Newsletter with lines in them for notes.
For those of you who have believed into Jesus; take communion often (I Cor. 11:23-26; Lk. 24:30-31a). Let communion be a refreshing of the Blood and the Spirit (Heb. 9:14) to cleanse your conscious from sin consciousness to righteousness consciousness, that you are indeed clean, as a gift of His grace. You are no more, Dearly Beloved, under condemnation; rather, you are under justification – eternally! (Rom. 4:25b, 5:21;b; Heb. 9:11-12). You will find the Holy Spirit of Jesus unveiling Jesus to you from the scriptures like you’ve never seen Him before.
If you have never believed into Jesus Christ, you can do so now, from your own heart and words. If you wish to help to pray, pray, “LORD Jesus, I believe You died for me and as me because You love me. I ask You for Your Forgiveness for my sin. Thank You for shedding Your blood to cleanse me, for making me clean, for breaking the power of sin in my life. I ask You to live inside of me. I thank You, Jesus, for giving me eternal life, that I might know You and Your Father, as my God, forever. In Your Name, LORD Jesus. Amen!”
kairos – (Kahee-ros’) – Strong’s concordance defines this word: “an occasion, I.e. set or proper time.” The Hebrew-Greek Key Study Bible (NASB) defines this word; “season, time, but not merely as a succession of moments, which is chronos,” [from which we derive the English word ‘chronology’]. “Kairos, however, implies not the convenience of the season, but the necessity of the task at hand, whether the time provides a good, convenient opportunity or not.” This must be understood. Strategic times of the Lord do not necessarily imply good or convenient times. We are in Kairos times. Maybe not good or convenient times, but definitely strategic, opportune times because of the season we are in. We must have “ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches,” (Rev. 2:29), so as to respond correctly to the Kairos time.
